Stop Washington bureaucrats from deciding how your food tastes!

ACTION ALERT: Don’t wait another minute. Make your voice heard. Submit your comment now!

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture have initiated a public comment period on population-wide sodium reduction.

For decades, Food Police activists have waged an unscientific war on salt, encouraging government entities to enact draconian population-wide sodium reduction plans, and companies to change their traditional product recipes, without a shred of real evidence. In fact, the most recent analyses from medical experts show a consensus on sodium reduction does not exist – an inconvenient truth that the anti-salt activists ignore and try to suppress.

In order to squash the nanny state’s agenda to eliminate our food choices, it is imperative that Americans flood the Federal Register with comments explaining that the science does not support any actions by the federal government to regulate our salt intake.

If this egregious act of government overreach into our lives goes unchallenged, we will have no reason to complain when we are all lab rats in this national experiment.

Consumers can submit a comment online by going to: http://www.regulations.gov/#!documentDetail;D=FSIS-2011-0014-0001.

Background Information:

  • It’s Time to End the War on Salt, Scientific American (July 8, 2011): This week a meta-analysis of seven studies involving a total of 6,250 subjects in the American Journal of Hypertension found no strong evidence that cutting salt intake reduces the risk for heart attacks, strokes or death in people with normal or high blood pressure.
